In collaboration with Cinema City Norwich the UEA Think German Network is in the process of organising a film screening event for Years 8 and 9 at Cinema City on Thursday 19th of October, 10am until 12.30pm.

Der Ganz Große Traum (2011) with Daniel Brühl (Goodbye, Lenin) and Burghard Klaußner (The Reader) tells the story of a visionary English teacher who in the late 19th century brings football from England to Germany – against all the odds of a Prussian education system.

The film will be shown in German with English subtitles at Cinema City and be introduced by a surprise guest and accompanied by a quiz and creative writing competition to take back to school (great prizes to be won). The event will be generously funded by the German Embassy and the UEA and is also supported by the Goethe Institut London. The screening is £1 per student (teachers free). For eligible schools funding is available to help cover transport and cover costs. For more information and to see if your school is eligible, please contact hum.outreach@uea.ac.uk.

To book your places, please email info@cinemacityeducation.org.uk or call 01603 625145.
