It is the time of year again for our annual autumn creative writing competition in German. It is open to all KS3, KS4 and KS5 students in the region who are studying German.
Victoria and Bastian are students at the University of Wuppertal and have recently completed their internship at Farlingaye High School in Woodbridge. In the following article they talk about their initiative of running a German club at two local primary schools. Congratulations to both for their achievement!

This year's KS4 event will take place on Tuesday 29th of January. Thanks to the support of Goethe Institut London and the University of Cambridge, this event is free to attend.
We would like to invite KS4 and KS5 students of German to participate in our AUTUMN creative writing competition based on your own photo version of a famous theme in German romantic painting: the Rückenfigur or rear-view figure that gazes into the distance, with a longing for or maybe rather an unease about the future.
After last year’s successful autumn creative writing competition, UEA Think German Network would like to invite all students in KS3 to go out into nature again and be inspired to write an imaginative text.

This summer term, German university student Annalena Zenkert from Bergische Universität Wuppertal spent a work placement at Farlingaye High School in Woodbridge. As part of her role, she set up a weekly German club at a local primary school.
On Monday the 9th of July year 6 students from Grundisburgh Primary School visited Farlingaye High School in Woodbridge for a German taster afternoon.

Ellie studied German for A-Level at Wymondham College before moving to Bath for her Modern Languages degree. She has just finished an internship at a translation agency in Berlin.
Farlingaye High School received a very special Christmas present as it was made a PASCH school. PASCH stands for the "Schools: Partners for the Future" initiative. It is a global network of around 1,800 schools that place a high value on German.

On Friday 2 March UEA will be offering the chance for KS5 students to come for a special language day, to practice their oral skills in French, German and Spanish, and see what it’s like to study a language at university. We will also be running exam prep sessions for students due to take A-level exams in the following languages: Mandarin, Polish, Arabic, Russian and Japanese.
